CSRD: obligation and opportunity

The CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) requires organizations to be open about their impact on people, the environment and society. This directive supports the EU Green Deal to be climate neutral by 2050. For your organization, it doesn’t just mean meeting an obligation. It also helps to improve your sustainable commitment and create credibility and trust with stakeholders.

For fiscal year 2024, publicly listed companies in the EU are required to report in accordance with the CSRD. For fiscal year 2025, large companies in the EU must report if they meet at least two of the following three criteria:

  • Balance sheet total above 25 million euros
  • Net sales of more than 50 million euros
  • More than 250 employees

Even if you are not directly CSRD liable, you may come into contact with the requirements indirectly, including through cooperation with partners who request sustainability information.

ESG: the route to growth and success

Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) are the three core themes of sustainability reporting. The European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) ensure that companies report in the same way. This may feel like a complex journey, but it is actually an opportunity to develop a strong, future-proof organization.
