Not a doctor, but an accountant<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n
Originally, Muddasser studied Biomedical Sciences because he wanted to become a doctor. But he changed course and entered the accounting field. “I have a passion for healthcare and a drive to contribute to society. ‘Society’ to me at the time was the human body. As an accountant, I can help many more people on a societal level.” <\/span><\/p>\n
Blood crawls where it cannot go<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n
Accountancy and healthcare: what do they have in common? Well, at Q, Muddasser chooses his own (healthcare) clients and cases. \u201cAt Q, they ask me what I want to do. Which clients do I like? I get to come up with my own plan which can be as broad or concrete as I want.\u201d But there\u2019s more to what Muddasser likes to do. \u201cAlongside pursuing my passion, I can contribute at a strategic level at Q. The leadership is very approachable, open, and down-to-earth. You truly get opportunities to be involved in decision-making.\u201d<\/p>\n
Taking the plunge<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n
Yet the move to Q was not on Muddasser\u2019s schedule at all. \u201cI worked at a large accounting firm for 10 years. I wasn\u2019t looking for a new job. However, I did find myself at a point in my career where I had to choose either the beaten path or the challenge of setting up something from scratch at an entrepreneurial organization. As comfortable as I was, I knew I would regret saying no to Q.\u201d<\/p>\n
Time for self-development<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n
Where he hardly had time before, Muddasser now has the space to dive into literature to enrich his knowledge. \u201cWorking a lot was normal for me. When I first came to Q, I felt I was not productive enough. Now I know that, on the contrary, I have the space to develop my breadth of knowledge. And I also have time for my personal life!\u201d He also enjoys spending time sharing his knowledge with clients and colleagues. \u201cHelping others grow, that really energizes me.\u201d<\/p>\n
Coloring inside the lines<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n
Sometimes you need a trigger to discover if you are still doing what you enjoy. \u201cMaybe you feel you can do more than color inside the lines.
